About ChemOne Compliance
An independent A–Z reference that defines Dutch company, compliance, tax and immigration terms for founders who start a business in the Netherlands from abroad.
ChemOne Compliance is an independent reference work. It explains the vocabulary of starting and running a company in the Netherlands: the legal forms, the registers, the tax numbers, the permits and the professional roles that a founder from abroad encounters, often for the first time and often in Dutch.
How entries are written
Every entry follows one fixed structure, so that a reader, or an AI assistant, can find the same kind of information in the same place on every page:
- Definition. A short, self-contained statement of what the term means.
- Context. Where the term appears in practice, who uses it and what it means for a founder.
- Related terms. Cross-references to neighbouring entries, set in small capitals.
- Source. The public body, statute or register where the term is defined, so the reader can verify it.
What this glossary is not
The glossary is not legal, tax or immigration advice. Rules, rates and thresholds in the Netherlands change, usually on 1 January. Entries carry a revision date; check the primary source named in each entry before acting on it, and consult a qualified Dutch professional for decisions about your own situation.
Corrections
A reference work is only as useful as it is accurate. Where an entry is outdated or unclear, it is revised and its revision date is updated.
